It took about 3 weeks for my glue to come off... At about 2 weeks I started to try and get it off in the shower but it still over a week for me to get it all! I thought it would never come off!

Are you talking about the bandage tape??

My surgeon told me if they fall off not problem, but when showing don't rub with any thing, its ok to let the Water run over them. I had a little very light blood show from one incision due to me running

hot water in the shower I think for too long.

Glue lasts anywhere from 5-15 days. The glue is for the outside skin, you have internal dissolvable sutures on you incisions. They take 2weeks to dissolve but the outside abdominal skin will knit together in about week.

So don't pull of the glue, don't use lotions or cream on them either. If it starts to loosen, leave alone, it will fall by itself. You might even see clear suture sticking out, which is normal, don't pull it.

Hope that helps!

They do recommend trimming the loose edges so they don't snag on your clothes.

I had sx on 10-3. I still have glue on 3/5 incisions 1 pulled loose within the first 10 days. The other just yesterday.

I have been putting the Walmart closure strips on them to try & pull the edges closer together. But, it didnt seem to work. So, I used some medical tape over a bandaid so that the skin isnt pulling apart so much.

Also my Doc had to cut some of those clear sutures that were sticking up, no big deal.

One week. And by then, I had my first follow up appointment with my doctor and he took them all off and told me to just let them air from now on. One of my wounds was bleeding a little, so he covered that one up.

The glue came off after the second week... But not entirely by itself; I picked at a lot in the shower with soap...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
