What is your "(non)guilty pleasure" food?

Recommended Posts

I say (non)guilty pleasure food because I refuse to feel guilty for consuming this. I eat only a small fraction of what I used to and I limit these to only 1 a week but they are seriously responsible for keeping my mind sane and balanced on this entirely new way of living I have adopted recently. Also, my weight loss has not stopped even after I consume these (at least for right now). So what is your indulgence food (or drink)

About once a week I stop by Starbucks and get a tall (smallest size) Salty Caramel Mocha Frappachino with no whipped cream and made with Organic Soy Milk, sometimes with an extra shot of espresso. My tummy doesn't mind it at all, which is a little weird to me because it minds other more healthy things... lol.

Funny.... That's my one indulgence too! Except I get it hot instead of cold but a tall salted caramel mocha with no whip once a week is WAY better than what I used to drink..... I used to have Starbucks daily and it was always something really bad for me so I feel like I am making progress! I think we had surgery one the same date 9/10/13.

Oh that caremel coffee does look good. I think my favorite non guilty pleasure food is my double chocolate casein Protein Shake. Nope, don't feel guilty about that one. Other then that, anything my wife makes for dinner that is savory like cordon blue chicken casserole. Yum!

I have a 20oz SF LF vanilla latte with whip cream everyday. Don't think I could get through a day without my latte.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
