I started my pre-op diet today, I got on the scale and was surprised to see my weight. I am down like 13 lbs from 4 weeks ago. Of course I should explain that I have had a bug that has cut my appitite and has loosened things down below. So much for getting the flu shot!

I am experimenting with cutting and pasting the tracker I created below, excuse the duplication.

Thanks Dave

Alex & Dave

I was banded at Toronto last Thursday. Everything went great and fast it was amazing. I felt so good when I got home just tired. Took pain meds first night thats all. Gas wasn't even that bad. You will both do great.

The pre-diet is a bit of a challenge , just get creative with the cottage cheese...it helps. I am now on full fluids and not feeling one bit of hunger. Just at night, My stomach is so loud it has bothered the Dog LOL

you will both do great.

Welcome to your new LIFE!!!

Hi Rosi, thanks for sharing your experience, it make me more confident that I have made the correct decision.

I am hoping to actually meet Alex on April 5th at TLBC. It would be nice to put a face with a name. Maybe we can then get together for coffee and share our deepest worries and concerns...

Na, to girly, maybe the occasional e-mail, lol!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
