WOw it has been 7 weeks . I don't regret the decision and learning so much about my new stomach. I have am sticking to the plan , I don't eat bread , Pasta , sugar or bad carbs . I eat mostly Protein and try and get in some mixed veggies at dinner . I need to drink more Water , most days it's max 64 oz, but that is really working it ! Calories on average 600-900 a day , Exercising strenuous 30 min 3 x a week , I am a loose size 18 down from size 22 , lost 33 pounds and feel great .

So why do I feel like everyone else seems to be losing weight faster then me ? I thought 20 ponds a month is something I could expect if I stuck with the program ? Maybe I am living in lala land but dang it I want faster results ;) I am curious to know what everyone's current loss is and if it meets their expectations . Thanks guys !

I was sleeved August 21st. SW on surgery date 249, CW as of 3 days ago 206. A loss of 43 pounds 8 wks out. Your loss seems great to me. I keep reminding myself that this will keep working as long as I follow the plan. I walk almost daily 2 miles with my 2 year old and dog. The little one keeps me moving now that I can get up and do as he wants :). I just added the Slim in 6 beach body video 3 times a wk. Building up to 5 days a wk. I eat between 500 and 800 calories a day, Protein 70-90, carbs 35-45. I was just told Thursday by my NUT to up my carbs on my work out days to 60. I'm a little afraid to do that tho. Your doing great keep working that sleeve.

If your going at your work out hard your probably not having very much muscle loss. (which is great) I say keep up your goals your seem to be doing things right! 33 pounds is huge! Don't forget to switch it up every once in awhile. That's the advice I was given so in 5 wks I'll move on to a new routine. Idk if that's proper but I'm willing to give it a try :)

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
