Question for the vets

Recommended Posts

I everyone! I lost - little over 75 pounds in the past 4 months and I am 5'5 and weigh 154.2 as of this morning.

Here's my questions....I noticed that when I sit I can feel my tail bone. If I sit on the floor it hurts! I can't do crunches on the floor because of this and it feel like I'm forever sitting on something hard! Is this normal????? This is the lowest I have ever been in my adult life so I really don't know if this is normal because I no longer have the extra cushion? But pain?? To do sit-ups??

Thanks in advance!

-Ruthie ????

Oh, yeah, Girl! I had to change positions SEVERAL TIMES on my way to WORK!!!! My tailbone, unfortunately, also extends longer than average! I can literally feel it all the time!

My suggestion, buy you one of those padded butt thingy! LOL it might be worth it, though.

And yes, I am 3 1/2 years out - below goal - I DID NOT REGAIN ANY BUTT FAT! :)

Yeah, I've begun to notice that my car seat puts pressure on my butt bone. :-0 So I'm adding squats to my workout routine to put some meat between me and the chair!

I find this so odd! It's not the first time I've read a thread about this very same thing... It happens to a lot of people. I too have this problem and it is very painful even making me grimace and sit up slowly..

But what is odd? Well I've lost this weight a MILLION times before and have NEVER had this problem??

Ive lost weight before but not this much. I though maybe there was something wrong with my spine/tail bone or is it just the lack of extra padding I've had pretty much all my life. How come I never hear thin people complain about this? I see them sitting in all kinds of positions lol

I need to get my BUTT in gear and start exercising.....yup I have not been regularly exercising. Maybe some Buns of steal on me will help!

Thanks All! I am glad its not just me! :P

I have this problem too! Sitting too much is just painful. I'm 4 months out on Friday. None of my family understand it either. Yesterday I went out to eat and focused so much on shifting around it was like I was suffering with some hemorrhoids or something lol

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
