Feeling lost :(

Recommended Posts

Sorry for your loss. I lost my mom 2 years ago and she didn't get to see me have my surgery but I know she's looking down on me. She is one of the reason I wanted surgery. It saved my life.

So sorry for your loss! My dad died in 1997, and my mom died last year. Losing a parent is so hard. I'm so glad she got to see the success on your WL journey. What a blessing.

So very sorry about the passing of your mom. Both of my parents are gone but know they never leave you. Your mom is watching you and there for you every minute. Much love and prayers to you and your family.

I lost my mom in 2004 when I was 32 years old. She passed away of heart disease at the age of 59. I still think about her every day. She is a huge reason I'm having this surgery. She got to see all 7 of her grandchildren born before she passed. I want to be able to see my grandchildren born and grow up and maybe even some great grand kids too. My hope is in The Lord and His grace is enough. I pray for healing for you and your family.

I am so sorry about your mother. I just lost my Aunt in September. She was all I had left. My mother and her were twins and my mother passed in 2008. I get through knowing they are not in pain anymore and they are reunited.

Thinking of you at this time. I lost my my Mum in 2011 after caring for her for over two years and then my Dad in 2012. I hid for almost a year feeling worthless and lost. I decided to get this surgery so I would be healthier for my own son my parents were only 64 and 65. I can still hear my Dad say where is the skinny girl in old photos I know he was only worried about me. But I know they are looking down smiling now that I making the changes needed, I still miss them terribly every day but I also know they would be pissed at me if I waisted my life. It takes a while but try to remember the good stuff xox

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
