Crunchamame: my new love

Recommended Posts

I love frozen edamame, steamed and salted and sometimes a dash of cayenne pepper.

I love dried edamame, roasted with a little sea salt for crunch, Fiber, and Protein. http://www.amazon.com/Seapoint-Farms-Roasted-Edamame-Lightly/dp/B0094IXKME/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1381953887&sr=8-3&keywords=dried+edamame

But I ADORE crunchamame! They're a little pricey but they taste so good! http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=crunchamame

It's kind of like pirate booty texture--light fluffy, crunchy and enough Protein and Fiber in it to not feel bad about it. VERY filling. One serving is 1/2 cup and that's 90 calories. I can't finish it.

Oh but I certainly plan to! so good. If you're craving salty junk food, maybe try this instead.

I got savory sesame. It doesn't taste like sesame, just savory. Love it. I would think lightly seasoned would be the way to start.

Are they crunchy or is it a side dish?

They're soft crunchy like pirate booty or soft Cheetos kind of texture.

If you want a side dish, try the frozen ones. Those turn out like little hard peas, not mushy.

The PA called back...I'm on antibiotics for a sinus infection, she thinks this is the culprit. I have 2 more days is antibiotics and if it continues after I'm done, call them back Monday or go to ER over the weekend if it gets worse.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
