Had VSG surgery in February....down 79.6 lbs. First time EVER watching the Biggest Loser as a thin person. In the past, my hubs and I would get a snack, watch the show and talk about how difficult being away from your family would be.

Last night, with no Snacks, I looked at my husband and told him that I WANTED TO GO WORKOUT after watching the show! I felt so motivated seeing the contestants start their change - seeing their determination, effort, and focus.

Sat there and wondered, during my weight loss journey, have my friends or family been motivated watching MY changes/determination/focus?

So I wanted to tell all of you - my VSG brothers and sisters, I keep coming to this site every day to watch your changes, determination and focus. I want to THANK each of you who take the time to share your successes and struggles. It keeps me SO MOTIVATED. So if you think what you are doing doesn't matter and no one is watching you...YOU ARE WRONG. You are a light for many - in person and online.

Hugs my friends....let's kick some ass this week.

We used to do the same thing. Where we live, Biggest Loser night was the same night as 2 for one pizza and so we always had my friend come over, pizza and I would make a dessert. haha It was always a fun night in a weird way.

Proud of your success! Feels good doesn't it?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
