gamergirl 4,610 Posted October 16, 2013 I'm so embarrassed by my before pics and I'm not even half way yet, but thought I'd be brave, and share where I'm at. I'm 5'6, HW 230, CW 195 so 35 lbs down. Went to see my PCP. The whole office gets excited when one of us has an appt because we usually accompany each other, and they're DYING to see our weight loss. The doc said my husband and I had already had more success than some of her sleeved patients EVER see. That was a sobering thought and should scare us all into being diligent. She congratulated us on being so proactive about it and said that our focus on health and activity was good because the people who put it back on are invariably focused on a short-term goal like fitting into a dress or going to a reunion. She ordered me to stop obsessing, stop being as type A as I was, and to cut myself some slack. So I will try And my thyroid meds were reduced for the second time since surgery. Yay! Ok I've blabbed long enough to delay posting my picture but here it goes. 23 TV-Duhhh!!!, Molly3, makinithappen2013 and 20 others reacted to this

gamergirl 4,610 Posted October 16, 2013 Thank you guys! I will also mention that I have already had two 12-day each stalls. So I suppose by the forum's standards I could be a "slow" loser. I'm not really sure whether I am slow or not, but I've had mini stalls for almost a third of the time post-op--and I can still see a difference. So I guess we should stop worrying about the stalls, right? 1 NMJG reacted to this

tabbatha35 44 Posted October 16, 2013 Wow that's almost here! When you start your pre-op diet? My doctor had me start changing my diet after I saw him in August. I don't have to do any special diet before. I changed my eating habits actually on my own before I saw my surgeon. I've been following clean eating and I've been free from soft drinks for 4 whole months and do not ever plan on going back to them. I've lost 22 pounds so far. I'm excited about getting sleeved. I find it most encouraging hear of everyone else's stories and achievements. I thank you for sharing! 2 Erica2013 and chefcoll reacted to this

The week after that, I substituted a shake for one meal daily. Then I did two weeks of proper pre-op. Felt like the worst of the withdrawals were over well before surgery. Hardest for me was caffeine! You're going to do great with the changes you've already made.

Pixie Dust 526 Posted October 16, 2013 Wow! You are one sexy mama! You look fabulous!! Thanks so much for sharing! I'm a slow loser & even my doc said I seem to need some sort of kick start to my metabolism but due to a knee that needs to be replaced, I'm not doing that great in exercising. I walk just over 1/4 mile per day, which isn't much but it's a HUGE change for me since I couldn't walk more than 3 houses before I lost a little weight. I'm just plowing forward tho in the meantime. Congratulations on your achievement! 1 gamergirl reacted to this

I have RA and I've had two bad flare ups since the surgery where it's hard to do much of anything, not even 1/4 of a mile those days. I guess we'll just have to learn patience eh? 1 Pixie Dust reacted to this
