Band07 374 Posted October 15, 2013 Just now moving to some soft/mushy foods ( yogurt, cottage cheese type ) wondering should I be feeling full ? Or does that come more with solids ??
PdxMan 4,292 Posted October 15, 2013 It definitely comes more with solids as the liquid in the soft mushy foods is going to help the food move through the stomach quicker, thus you don't feel the restriction as much or as long. Also know that the feeling of full is going to be somewhat different and difficult to understand at first. Just take things slow, don't rush to eat. Put your utensil down in between bites and assess how you feel. Chew well and don't drink liquids just before during or just after eating. You will come to know your new "full". 1 .......... reacted to this
Trebor 4 Posted October 15, 2013 Oh great! My surgery is 7 days away and this is the first time I've heard: "the feeling of full is going to be somewhat different and difficult to understand at first" Can you elaborate on this?
.......... 129 Posted October 15, 2013 not like a cork, but at future points you may at some time come to wonder will you ever eat enough or always feel need for restraint, maybe, hmm, a couple weeks after first solids and start feeling there is like a bump which sends a signal saying you need go no further, if you stay with it. don't drink Water or beverage after either, you'll feel a little pain in that. eventual change comes more though, this maybe begins it. PGee 318 Posted October 15, 2013 Oh great! My surgery is 7 days away and this is the first time I've heard: "the feeling of full is going to be somewhat different and difficult to understand at first" Can you elaborate on this? Don't worry about it.....each of us is different.......plus initially you are on liquids and can only drink so much at a time......it's more present with solid foods.......as long as I eat slowly, I can feel when I'm full.....it hurts if I eat one bite too many.....did that a couple times, don't want to do it again......thankfully it passes quickly. Hope this helps......good luck on your journey!
