Will you lie about the surgery?

Recommended Posts

I have not lied about it at all. I mean it's not like it's a secret that I am heavy and it will be obvious that something significant has happened. Everyone I have told is very supportive and excited for me!

Funny.. I've told just about everyone and the only people who have given me a hard time are the skinny over achiever types... you know... so skinny the still look like a sickly 12year old at 40... they are SO sure I could lose all this weight with just a few small changes in my diet. I just thank them for their concern and say... next time I see you ill be skinnier! I then get a very concerned look as I walk away smiling and glad that at least I'm not shaped like a 12 year old boy :)... most everyone is excited for me

My primary care physician suggested that I have wls due to my comorbidities. That's exactly what I'm going to tell people. How can they argue with me taking the advice of my physician?

...I am not some hillbilly deep wooded fantasy image, I don't approve this example, I'll lie as well and call it a lie easily when you bring it up as well, so, I spurted some pro-lie spunk and the thread is to strange with this anti-lie matter in it, to be realistic at all, why a huge laugh of it as well, so what the fudge, what's that laugh added for as well, ??, and so what and who cares any more, good night.

Hey JKG - you called yourself a hillbilly. No one else. In fact, no one was name calling until your reply. If you don't get the dripping sarcasm in my post, just don't reply. We were all having a good bit of fun with this discussion here.

Choosing to tell or not tell about the surgery is a personal call. I was offering some sarcastic one line comebacks if someone had the rudeness to press you about the type of surgery you are having. Sheesh.

I wouldn't lie but I also won't tell anyone if it's none of their business. I have told my manager I might (because I'm not approved yet) have to have surgery. I'm in HR and she's an HR manager so she knows not to ask for specifics. Lies tend to catch up with you. What if you lied about the surgery and down the road you actually had to have that same type of surgery for real. Would you lie about that surgery too?

I thought it was me :)

Maybe it's the lack of punctuation and the run on sentences, but I can't follow what he's saying either.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
