8/12 and I'm down 26 lbs. from surgery date, 31 lbs. from start. You are going a lot faster than I am, but I'll take whatever I can get. I'm over 50, had a starting BMI right at 36, and have a slow metabolism. But I've gone from 18/20 and XXL to 14/16 and size M in nine weeks, so I'm happy. Been stalled 2 weeks, too.

hello near-twin!! I was 8/2, i've lost 35, I'm 47, my BMI was 37, slow metabolism, gone from18/20 to 16 (in xl or L still I think) in 10 weeks and I've stalled at least 3-4 weeks total and I too am happy.

I tell you what, if you're not 30 years old, we're going to have a whole different trajectory of weight loss aren't we?

I'm happy with my loss of 51 lbs sleeved on 8/16. I've had fluctuating last two weeks and loss has slowed . Dispute I'm feeling better and learning my body. I'm trying to ensure exercising 4 days a week min. I seem to loose more when I'm on top of my Water intake! Enjoying reading everyone's experiences

I am definitely not on track for 100+ lbs in six months (how DO they do that?!?)

VSG on Aug 15 -- weight on first appointment was 283, day of surgery 271, today 241 for a total loss of 42 lbs from start to finish, from day of surgery 30 lbs.

I'm in my 60's.

Fast loser' date=' slow loser ... I guess I just never understood why it matters. It's like a marathon ...there are some people that can get it done in 2.5 hrs, most take 4.5, but they still cheer when somebody walks across the finish at 6 hrs. Just keep running, when you can't run anymore walk ... just finish.[/quote']

:) : clap clap clap.... <-- that's me right now clapping away!!!!! Couldn't say it any better than you...

Hey, your doing great. I was sleeved August 13th, and have only lost 18lbs. I know better than nothing, but does tend to hurt my feelings. I weighed 236 surgery day, and today 218. I so wanted to be under 200 by this time. But didn't happen so I gotta buck up and carry on.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
