Shoota 33 Posted October 14, 2013 5 1/2 months out from surgery, 90 pounds down, working out regularly. Feeling great! I guess I started to feel a little too good today. Tried some bread with some beef, got seriously slimed. First experience of this kind and hopefully, I won't repeat it. Feels absolutely awful. Like a river of saliva in my mouth and throat. Thought it was curtains for me.
FishingNurse 1,211 Posted October 14, 2013 lol, sliming is bad. I am 26 months post op, and luckily I slimed 6 times only, eveytime but 1 was in the first 6 months. It might happen again, it sneaks up on you. Texture did it to me.. beef jerky! Ack!

FishingNurse 1,211 Posted October 14, 2013 (edited) It's a very unpleasant expirence! It can happen post op if you don't chew we'll enough, or you sleeve doesn't like the texture, or you eat a little too much. You can feel like something is stuck in your throat, and your body tries to lubricate the stuck food out, and you form thick salavia to move the food through. Then you can throw up slimy saliva balls. It's horrid! Once you know your sleeve its easier to avoid. Seems to happen in the fist six months primarily.
