feeling sad and depressed

Recommended Posts

hi everyone

i guess i'm here to just vent a little bit. i am a little sad and depressed lately cause i am at a major stall for the past two months. i have tried a little of everything to try to break it but my body just dosent want to budge. i am 10 months out and 96 lbs down witch is really great but i so desperately want to hit that 100 lb loss. there are many mornings that i really just want to turn over and not go to the gym but i mostly push myself out of bed and when i'm done i'm glad i did. has anyone had this happen. i have to say that i haven't been this weight since high school so i guess my body is rebelling!! oh well this too shall end. sooner or later.

thanks for listening!

I'm only 4 months out, so I haven't faced that myself, but I can just imagine how difficult it must be. I don't really have any words of advice, just hang in there & know that you have done an amazing job so far. I can't even imagine 96 lbs yet...wow!!! :D

Oh to be so close and not have it move! How's your calorie intake? Could you try doing a higher calorie intake for a few days? Or switching out the exercise for something new?

96 lbs in less than a year is great. It will start to move again. Like the others mentioned, try changing up your exercise routine. Maybe more cardio. Hang in there & keep up the good work.

I have not lost anything in over 2 months. I am 5 months out and down to 139-142 after my revision to sleeve so I am happy with my weight. However, I know how frustrating it can be. Hang in there. Hopefully our bodies will just jump start back up some day.

Tinytears 96 pounds is awesome congrats. This may sound stupid but maybe you are stalled because you are stressing over it. I know when I'm stressing my blood sugar goes up and I gain a little. Of course I don't know anything about what happened with the body post surgery I just know how I react to stress now. Good luck and I hope you are able to break through soon. :)

First- congrats on your weight loss. I've been stuck at 97lbs for three weeks and I also can't get to a 100lb weight loss goal. It worries be because I still have 35-40lbs until I reach goal.i will be 8 months out next week, and I am not positive that I'll make it to that goal by next month either. I'm doing all the right things but the loss has been non-existent during this period of time. Hang in there and I'll the same.

Stick to the plan, but change your routine some for a few weeks. If you do mostly cardio switch to weight lifting for a few weeks. If you do weight lifting switch to cardio for a few weeks. If you are doing low carbs, add more carbs in for a few weeks. If you aren't doing low carb try doing low carb for a couple of weeks. If your calories are on the high end of your target range then cut them, and if they are on the low end of your target then increase them.

Make sure you are getting enough Protein and Water. After you try everything different for two weeks then switch back to what you are doing now and see if you start to lose again.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
