No Energy for Anything....Is this common?

Recommended Posts

Yes, I was just like you. Could not walk as I felt breathless and dizzy. In the kitchen, standing up to cook my self something was exhausting, to point I had to go back and sit for few mins and return to my kitchen to complete the simplest recipe "soup". On top of that, the fear of being like this forever is just awful. Every day is better than the day before and for me it took me about 4 weeks to start feel some sort of energy coming back. Try to drink Water at all times as hydration helps with the dizziness and muscle cramping. Hope you feel better soon!

Ugh Im 5 weeks out and just now getting some energy back. Yesterday I managed to take a full shower and do my hair without having to take a break in between. But, some things still kill me. I sounded like the big bad wolf when I got to the top of a flight of stairs today (Pre surgery I didn't even huff and puff). Also last night I slept 2-3 hours at night, then slept the ENTIRE day while my son was at school ;/ Considering the time now, Im guessing the same will happen today. I am seriously not sure how this whole back to work thing is going to play out. Part of me is seriously dreading it lol

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
