So many questions! :)

Recommended Posts

I am thinking about getting sleeved. I was at first leaning towards the band because my friend has it and loves it. I went with her for a fill and 1. It freaked me out watching the procedure and 2. her doctor told me most doctors are leaning towards doing the sleeves and said that the doctors at OSU don't want to do them. I have a few questions that I was hoping to get opinions on.

1. After recovery are there any "forever" activity restrictions? I'm just wondering about getting hit in the stomach like with kickboxing or doing other activities.

2. Are there any foods that are restricted forever? I saw something about coconut somewhere, not a big deal, just curious.

3. Is there an impact in future pregnancies?

4. How long are complications a risk? Like leaks, staples coming out, etc. I just keep picturing a staple coming loose or tearing out 10 years down the road.

I'm not sure if these are ignorant questions as I have just started doing research but I really feel like hearing from actual people rather than some research paper off of Google would be beneficial. Thanks in advance!!! Nicole

1. After 6 months, my doctor lifted all restrictions on my activities.

2. No restrictions on food once I was allowed back on full foods - after 6 weeks post-op.

3. Don't know.

4. After 6 months, my doc said I was completely healed up. No risk of staples coming out once the stomach is completely healed.

I answer a lot these type questions on my youtube channel. You might check it out. The link is below in my signature.

I agree with the above answers...With regards to pregnancy, my doctor says it is best to wait at least a year prior to getting pregnant, but that it shouldn't negatively impact pregnancies

Thank you! I just want to make sure I cover all bases so while I'm not planning on getting pregnant any time soon I wanted to check. :)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
