Hemorrhoids. Haha.... NOT!

Recommended Posts

So, yea. It's happened. You can probably assume that the main subject of this thread will be about a painful a*****e.

You would be correct.

Who has hemorrhoids? Did they fully go away? Did Prep H work? What else works?

I feel like my a*****e has been raped by a bull.

Thanks guys.

My dad had them. Upping his Fiber & Water intake was what the dr requested he do for 2 weeks b4 they agreed to remove the hemroids.

Sits baths helped as did the prep H and looser underpants.

allons-y

Drink more Water, try not to strain when going, and dab a little witch hazel there. Should help!

Add a stool softener to your pills. For some, one a day is good, for others they need four a day. And keep drinking

It is going to sound crazy...but a nurse that worked in a nursing home told me that vicks vapo rub help to ease the hurt. It does ease it. I usually will take senekot with stool softners if i get them...and LOTS of Water

Do these little devils eventually go away? Or do you always get flare ups each time you poop?

Mine come and go. I make sure to stay regular because they will flare up if I have to strain. It's been 4.5 years since I first got them ( long labor with my son) and I'm pretty sure their here to stay.

Unfortunately, they don't go away, they are veins distended and inflamed in your butt because of straining from childbirth or bowel movements and being overweight. Flare ups can be treated through diet and exercise and OTC medicine.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
