I hear all the time about people being slow losers, but for someone who has had this surgery, what really is considered a slow loser? Losing 10lbs a month? Less than that? Possibly more?

I know I'm only 2 weeks out, but I see people losing 20lbs+ in the first 2 weeks, whereas I've lost 10 in the first 2 weeks. but then again, I see people complaining of losing very little to nothing in the first 2 weeks also, so I feel like I shouldn't complain... but what exactly puts you in the slow loser category?

People compare themselves to others which is not a good thing. People lose at different paces, men lose quicker than women, the higher the weigh the quicker it comes off. It's a marathon not a race. YOu do you and keep it moving.

I'm a slow loser 44.9 in about 7 months (on monday) but I'm am 115 lbs now so I'm content to lose slow...I'm very short and normal bmi now (88.9-119.8 is normal for me)

I agree with @Sonya139. I've had to take a lot of deep breaths lol. I am 25 days post op (vsg date 09/17/13) and I'm down 12.5 pounds. I've however had some set backs (rear end collision coming from hospital) and something called a splenic infarction( spleen moved during surgery, not getting enough oxygen) my set backs have minimized my mobility so I'm thinking this maybe the reason for my slow weight loss .

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
