Liquid Diet - Protein Shakes Vs Meal Replacement Shakes

Question? I do not have a date scheduled yet but I'm looking for tips to jump start my weight loss success. My liquid diet when I get to that phase, allows Protein Shakes, oat meal.. non-solid foods so I have been practicing this regimen with no loss. :( so I'm wondering if anyone with a successful liquid diet loss could share some helpful tips??? I've been drinking Meal Replacement Protein shakes and I'm wondering if that's holding me back..??

If it is labeled as a "meal replacement" shake, then look at the carb count on the back. My doc said I could have as many "Protein shakes" as I wanted as long as I stayed below 20 total carbs per day.

"Meal replacement" shakes sometimes have lots of sugar in them.
