KrittyKat 12 Posted October 12, 2013 I'm 3 days post op and every time I drink Water or take meds, I get the most painful pain (assuming it's gas) near by breast bone. Is this normal? I thought I was sipping, but even that causes severe pain. Please help!
LMarie 26 Posted October 12, 2013 Try the gas x strips.. If that's not working.. Make sure your using a sippie cup and try diff Water temperatures. Cold .. Warm.. Room temperature, etc. good luck! 1 Arts137 reacted to this
atlchick 42 Posted October 12, 2013 Its worse at cold or hot vs room temperature. I had it bad for the first couple of days but the more often I tried sipping it gradually got better.
SeaLegs 38 Posted October 12, 2013 I had such bad pain across my chest and boobs after surgery that they drew cardiac enzymes and did an EKG. It improved each time I did my walking circuits around the nurse's station and as my bowel sounds came back.

KrittyKat 12 Posted October 12, 2013 Did u have a hernia repair? No. I didn't. Surgeon said it was a nice clean surgery. I've been moving and walking a lot but still have pain after drinking etc... It makes it hard to get anything in.
Snufflegus 80 Posted October 12, 2013 Try something besides plain Water. I could not drink plain water for the first 2 months due to the molecular structure, it was painful in my chest. If I simply added lemon or flavoring it was fine and did not hurt. I drank a lot of crystal light and g2 Gatorade the first few months.
