Deyhytrated and hunger at night.

Recommended Posts

Anyone else has this issue???

It's crazy how I keep around 3 to 4 bottles of Water at my night stand. Because at night I am so thirsty, I'm so deyhytrated. What does that mean? I am always waking up and drinking Water and would finish all those bottle of waters. And always peeing. Anyone know what that means? And my stomach is so hungry. It's like I'm starving. Stomach won't stop growling. And from my previous post I eat a lot so I don't understand why I get so hunger. This drinking water and hunger is every night. Need advice

Thank you

God bless

Good quality sleep is important for health and weight loss, too! Ideas: Work really hard at getting your fluids in during the day, and that might also space out and limit your food intake. Make sure you are getting electrolytes (Have you had bloodwork lately?), if you are a mouth breather at night you might be dry. Put a humidifier by your bed. (They have these cute little humidifiers that hold one bottle of Water at Walgreens that are super.) The rumbling in your stomach might be all that water gurgling around. Best wishes...

I have seen it suggested here to take an antacid when you feel like you are hungry and you know you just ate. Since this is happening at night, it could be that lying down is causing indigestion and an antacid would do the trick.

Don't know about the drinking, but if you are eating at night that could be what is making you thirsty.

Really is that safe to use it all the time the antacid? Because I'm always hungry and eating so if that antacid work I would deff use it all the time.

Geez thats what I drink all day. Any chance that you are eating or drinking things with lots of sodium at night that will make you more thirsty?

Many people take one or two daily for acid reflux.

You need protonix or omeprezole daily. It's an acid reducer that will diminish the hunger.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
