No I've always done well with fish.. But if it wasn't sitting well. I'd not try it again for a while longer then when trying it again eat an ounce only and see if it sits any better next time.

At a month+ my stomach was still pretty persnickety...

Okay. Thanks...it's definitely not something I wanna try again right now...I was on the phone with the hubby and he could hear the air just coming up my esophagus :(

Maybe you took a piece that was too big. I do that sometimes, talking and forget that I can't eat as fast as I used to. I've started to love fish since I've been sleeved. Wait a while, then give it another chance. It's great Protein for us.

We too eat a lot of fish now. But all my food goes down better if it is moist and has a bit of sauce mixed or on the side. Doesn't take much, just a half spoon on salads, a small dollop of quacks ole, a little Greek yogurt--all of these help us a lot. My husband had a horrible reaction to the chicken dry last night. Today I mixed it with a little Greek yogurt dip and he was just fine.

So that might help as well when you try it the next time.

I cooked it in a pan with a lil seasoning and a lil water...just to make sure it was moist...idk...and it's frustrating

Definitely give it a few weeks and try again - your stomach is still the boss of you this early in the game. (Mine's the boss of me forever, I'm beginning to think!)

Hah!! I think I agree with you there!! It's insane the foods I used to eat that I cannot tolerate now. Oh well, it'll be worth it in the end (I HOPE)!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
