kwigillingok 177 Posted October 10, 2013 I know that every body will be different but just curious how long everyone stayed in the hospital after the surgery? I went home the following afternoon though in hindsight I probably would have benefited by staying another night.
denise633 86 Posted October 10, 2013 I was in for 4 nights because I had a previous lapband and had a lot of scar tissue they had to cut through which caused a lot of nausea
Hunter 159 Posted October 10, 2013 I know that every body will be different but just curious how long everyone stayed in the hospital after the surgery? one night released the next morning. PGee 318 Posted October 10, 2013 Surgery on 8/6 first thing in the morning, released 8/8 mid morning........I think I could have gone home the next day......but I did have the roommate from hell LOL I walked while in the recover room (I was in there a few hours, waiting for a room).....I don't think I feel pain the same way as most people--they were surprised I wanted to walk right away......I know not everyone has this experience, but my surgery/recovery was a piece of cake Welcome and good luck! 1 Bryan_G reacted to this

Cabingirl 55 Posted October 10, 2013 If you really want to know, ask your doctor his typical practice -- your physician controls discharge time for a patient who has no issues (extreme nausea, fever, etc.) . The hospital or insurance co. May have guidelines but he/she is the captain of the ship... 1 Bryan_G reacted to this
kvdme 64 Posted October 10, 2013 Surgery at 4pm, out by 6pm next day. Only thing I wish is didn't have to go in somewhere to get pain meds filed. That was hell.
BriDawn 79 Posted October 10, 2013 Two nights, left early the third morning. I hate hospitals so I had several panic attacks and was taking quite a bit of Ativan and morphine to calm me down! Not fun. I was very glad to go home.
Mrs.RRn 2,111 Posted October 10, 2013 I left the same day and was so happy about that. I felt much better not being in a hospital! 1 Bryan_G reacted to this

pjackson0523 158 Posted October 11, 2013 My doctor said it will be 1 night. Personally, I'd rather stay 2 just to be safe.
