ReDbEaN 654 Posted October 9, 2013 Since I had VSG, I am NEVER hungry in the morning, is this normal? Does anyone else have this. I have been making myself eat but some days it is soooo hard. Just wondering if I am alone with this?
Madam Reverie 2,958 Posted October 9, 2013 Nope, you're not alone. I don't start getting 'hungry' until after 3pm... It concerns me... 2 ReDbEaN and juliansmommy reacted to this
Sleeved in Seattle 280 Posted October 9, 2013 You are not alone. I keep telling myself Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but I struggle too. Usually I'll start the morning off with a 16 oz. glass of Water, then eat. I try to choke down some cottage cheese or greek yogurt, but it often seems like I'm eating brunch, not breakfast. 1 ReDbEaN reacted to this
ReDbEaN 654 Posted October 9, 2013 It is concerning to me as well. The afternoons are always so much better for me. AND I find I am able to eat more in the evenings. I can't even get down a whole egg in the mornings, but in the afternoon I can eat a wheel of cheese and a 1/2 of a cheddar pumpkinseed cracker...It seems way larger than the egg! PdxMan 4,292 Posted October 9, 2013 (edited) I had read about this on this forum before getting sleeved and I asked my surgeon about it. To summarize what he told me: With the fundus pretty much being removed along with the major part of the gherlin production, the "normal" hunger feelings are going to change. Your body will learn it's signals when nutritionally, you are running short. Take time to learn your body's signals and try to learn what it is you need. Focus on nutritionally balanced meals once your capacity goes up, and the hunger cravings will balance and you will know when to eat. For the first couple months, I had to set a reminder on my phone as I was always forgetting to eat lunch. But once I found my groove, breakfast, lunch and dinner no longer became chores. SerendipityHappens 1,594 Posted October 9, 2013 I start my day with a scoop of Protein Powder in my coffee. I'm not hungry in the morning so I don't force myself to eat. I NEVER have a problem reaching my 1240 daily calories or meeting my Protein goals so why force myself to eat in the AM? 2 Sleeved in Seattle and ReDbEaN reacted to this
Sleeved in Seattle 280 Posted October 9, 2013 I've been resisting the setting alarm idea - it seems counter intuitive to have to remind myself to eat - but it's beginning to make sense. Don't know about you guys, but I do tend to go more than 2-3 hours between meals, what with the Water drinking and life in general getting in the way. 1 ReDbEaN reacted to this
READY4CHANGE2013 88 Posted October 10, 2013 I work the mid shift but I try to do a yogurt first thing in the morning or Protein Drink since I'm thirstier. It works for me! 1 ReDbEaN reacted to this
