I will also be 3 weeks out tomorrow! I'm supposed to start my puréed tomorrow, but I have no desire to do so! I plan on doing soft but to the point I can purée it with my teeth! :) I've been on full liquids for 3 weeks and I want to chew!!

I skipped pureed entirely. I'm 3 weeks out tomorrow. I'm eating real food cooked thoroughly and that can be well chewed. I take it slow and as soon as I feel full, I stop. Consequently, I'm eating 5 small meals a day. Feel much better for it, too.

What have you tried so far and what does your stomach like best. I am 4 weeks out and eating soft foods but I kind of want some chicken.

Just take it slow on introducing new foods in. Make sure to chew a lot and take a long time to eat. I skipped the purée stage too....but I learned really fast that I needed to slow down my eating. Good luck! :)

My doctor only has a 3 day purée/soft food stage starting at day 10 , then it's just soft foods until day 45. I just gradually increased the amount if texture in the food I was eating and had no problems.

Just take it slow and add in new foods one at a time.

I got permission to skip puréed from my surgeon's office since I had never had any problems -- no vomiting, no nausea, no complications. Started with super soft food, scrambled eggs, Greek yogurt, cream Soups, moist chicken, mashed potatoes. No fresh fruits or veggies, only well-cooked mushy veggies. No bread, crackers or other carbs.

Same Here... Had none of the common PostOp sleeve irritations nor complications. Was given authorization to ease into soft foods and moist chicken. I soak both chicken and a lil mashed potatoes in broth. GOOD so far!!

I just got put on soft foods today. I've been on soft foods for over a week though :x Im eating a LOT of eggs and tuna fish salad, I had the leg off a Rotisserie chicken the other day. It was phenomenal. Even if I did chew it until it was almost liquid lol I am allowed iceberg lettuce and toast next week, and THAT makes me happy lol Tomorrow I'll probably have an oatmeal w/milk flakes and liquid milk, then some egg salad for lunch (~1/2c.) and Im thinking croc pot BBQ chicken for dinner and a Protein Bar eaten throughout the day.

The first salad I had was heavenly. Easy on my tummy too. Makes me full but not uncomfortable.

Oh how I miss my salads! I doubt I'll ever be able to eat them quite like I used to(red cabbage, spinach, carrots, cauliflower, croutons, light dressing) but even a small basic salad would make me so happy. I had a green bean for the first time last night, and it was soooo delicious :) I hope my taste buds didn't screw up their taste for the rest of my fave veggies. :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
