I haven't posted here in a long while! I started at 280, was 262 on day of surgery. Today I'm 175. I'm exercising a lot, eating well probably 90% of the time. I haven't lost anything in a month so today I started tracking my intake again because I'd stopped. Night time snacking and weekend "relaxing" are my weaknesses. I'm having my gall bladder out on November 20. I'm having some mild symptoms but no attacks.

Here are the things motivating me to keep up the good fight!

1. Finishing the year strong and getting as much off as I can for my 1 year pix/stats. I'm bummed because I'm having surgery on 11/20 and won't be able to exercise for a whole month! I've put off my surgery because I'm on a roll with exercise and don't want to stop :)

2. Getting into a size 12 sparkly blue formal I've rented for a fancy party on 11/15 (Have the same dress in black on stand by but I really want to wear the blue)

3. Holiday party season, I want to wear a short dress!

4. Reflecting on maintenance and what that might look like long term.

I'm in a size 14, sometimes a 12. My dress size seems high for my weight! I'm 5'8 and 175. I swear if it weren't for my extra belly skin I'd be in a solid 12 :)

Did your dr say it would be a whole month after gallbladder surgery before you could exercise? That sounds really long. My gallbladder surgery was super easy and I felt great immediately afterwards.

Slvsax, congrats! Can't wait to see pics of your sparkly dress!

My stats...surgery 12/20/13. High weight was 238. As of today I am 138 - down an even 100 pounds. (12 pounds under goal). I'm in size 7 jeans and medium tops. I refuse to buy any more clothes, so I'm really trying to load on the calories, yet still eat healthy. It's harder than it sounds ;)

PS did I mention how much I love my sleeve?!

great job way to hit that 100 lb off goal. I wish I could figure out how to get my weight loss moving again. If you have any secrets you could share for a slow looser what would it be?

Surgery Date 12/8/2013. Down 96 lbs. Weight 157 Goal 155. I would like to stay between 152 and 155 even if I just stay below 158 I'm happy. I'm 5'7" and in a size 8 life is great. I'm basically concentrating on exercising and toning. I also concentrate on Protein first. I struggled when I was overweight and this surgery has given me freedom. I don't want my life to be about my weight. I could say I want to be at 140 lbs but really I want to Celebrate all I've accomplished and live life to the fullest. I look amazing just as I am. I refuse to beat myself up over a number. Wherever my body feels happy that is where I will stay. Congratulations to everyone. What an accomplishment.

Haven't posted on bariatric pal in a long time cause there is so much wls support on Instagram and Facebook.< /p>

Vsg 121213 at about 240, I'm 5'7"

HW ever 293 back in 2009-2010

Current 163-166

Hope to maintain 155-160 but simple carbs are challenging to get away from

My hunger is back but not as strong as prior to wls and I still have major restriction (ie can only get in 2 chicken tenders within 35 minutes) I follow up with Protein Shakes or a Protein Bar an hour or so later to get in enough Protein and calories for the day

I tolerate chips crackers and vegan protein Cookies better than lean meats and fruits which is crazy ????

I workout often, at least 5-7x a week mostly hot yoga, power yoga, Pilates, spin and barre fitness classes ????????☺️????????????????????

Good luck everyone!

Thanks so much Deez! You inspire me too, I think we both had some challenging post op experiences initially but are progressing beautifully now. It's not an easy journey but nothing worth having is ever easy. Keep up the good work and hopefully our tolerances for healthier foods will get much better in the near future.

I have not posted in quite awhile. Life is busy! Sleeved 12.3.13 with no complications. I can eat Proteins easily, but meats go down easier if they have some juice or gravy to help them. I lost 80 pounds, and my weight hovers between 163 and 166. I set a goal of 150, but since I typically do not exercise at all, I know I will not get there for now. I am 3 years from retiring and have convinced my husband that we need to retire internationally. I want to move to a place that is very walkable. When we were on our last vacation (Dominican Republic), I lost 4 pounds in one week at an all-inclusive resort due to the amount of walking! We are starting to plan for our dream retirement. You would be surprised how inexpensive it can be to live in another country! Next week we go to Belize, February to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and March to Panama. We are interested in these three countries and may also consider Chile or Ecuador. We have never visited any of them, so we decided it was time to get started. If you have visited any of them, please share your thoughts.

I have been to Mexico, but not the other countries. I'm excited to hear about your journeys and final decision!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
