chefcoll 53 Posted May 26, 2014 OK weird question - I have had this GROSS metallic taste in my mouth for almost a month. It is driving me nuts and DR.s have no clue. I am going for blood work next week. This is making me eat stuff I really should NOT be eating! Has anyone else experienced this?

Gettingsexyback 128 Posted May 28, 2014 Chefcoll I had this for a few days and realized it was my Calcium chewables that I took right before bed and caused this awful metallic taste in my mouth all day the next day. 2 Jaime Kissinger and chefcoll reacted to this

nana2mo 2 Posted June 5, 2014 I had surgery on 12/26/2013. I have been Type 1 diabetic for 40 years, I have some loss of Kidney function. After surgery my Kidneys got worse and they had to pump me full of IV fluids. I gained back the 15 lbs had lost pre surgery, so I was back up to 300. It took me over a month to recover from surgery and another month before I felt some what "normal". May 21 I went in for my annual cardiac exam they called me that after noon and said I needed to go to have an angiogram. I did not leave the hospital. On May 23 I had triple bypass surgery on my beast and they said I had had a heart attack probably at the time of my gastric sleeve surgery. It has been hard. I am so ready to start feeling good. They say the recovery from this will take up to 4 months. I am down 60 lbs but still not feeling great. I hope and pray that the next six months bring health and well being. 1 Jaime Kissinger reacted to this

fostermama 63 Posted June 5, 2014 Is anyone else done with weight loss?? I had no idea it would happen so fast! Six months almost to the day of my surgery and I've lost 70lbs since the surgery date and 93lbs in total. HW: 256 SW: 235 CW: 163 I'm a size 8 and a size small in most stores. I feel great and really have had zero problems since the surgery. Only vomited once a short time after the surgery. Other than that it's been wonderful. I generally eat whatever I want during the day. Never did Protein Shakes, they grossed me out too much! So I do have Quest Protein Bars usually four times a week and I have cheese, cottage cheese, and Greek yogurt for Protein. Other than that I try to stay away from sweets and empty carbs. I am more active but maybe only three days a week I do serious exercise. I almost feel guilt about how easy this weight loss was (NOT)!! Hope everyone's journey has been as wicked awesome and rewarding! This weekend I'm going away with my family and extended family to a hotel WITH A POOL. AND I AM WEARING A BIKINI!!! Oh - the only side effect I'd say is I get rashes more easily. My skin seems to be more sensitive. 3 chefcoll, skinnygirlwithin and Gettingsexyback reacted to this

If you dont mind me asking, how tall are you? What did you have done (band/sleeve) - thats really awesome - have a wonderful trip!</p> Thanks Skinnygirl! I'm only 5'4", so technically I'm still overweight according to BMI, but I'm sure I can speak for all of us when I say that chart can kiss my ass!! Hehe. I have a lot of muscle tone and just generally broad shoulders, big hips, etc. I feel like I'm healthy and I think I look healthy. I keep getting comments like "geez, how much more weight can you lose??" And I sort of agree. I'm completely happy with my body. My skin totally tightened up though I do have a bit of the bingo arms and my upper thighs are a little flabby. But really the belly is gone! Never thought that would happen! And my big bum is also mostly gone. Woohoo! Lol. 3 Texasmeg, chefcoll and skinnygirlwithin reacted to this

Agreed, I too am getting the same comments...and my hubby doesn't want me to lose any more weight, BUT I just saw my doc on Tuesday... he wants me to lose 20 more by my 9mo check up... I am SAY WHAT??? I don't know if that's going to happen... I feel conflicted... I know I started out to be "healthy" but until I hit my goal I will be considered "over weight"... and on the other hand I am happy with the way I look... I need to work on my toning but that will come in time, I was just cleared two weeks ago to start walking / jogging - end of June I can start the other stuff... Congrats on your successful LOSS!! 1 chefcoll reacted to this

Haha that's funny about how doctors are so narrow minded sometimes and have to make us all fit in these nearly checked boxes. I feel really good and I know that I would not have any health risks at this weight; which like you, was why I had the sleeve in the first place. Good luck on your journey and thanks for the support! 1 skinnygirlwithin reacted to this
