Texasmeg 568 Posted January 2, 2014 Got sleeved on Monday 12/30 - am now at home - yay! I'm Jennifer - live in Frisco Texas (Dallas suburb) 46 y.o. 270 at least weigh-in at home, but hospital "bed scale" weighed in at 112kg or so, which would be 246. hmmm My goal is to hit about 165 and to walk a 5K before end of 2014. Good luck all! WolfeCookie, I live in Plano and was sleeved on Tuesday (Dr. Cribbins) at Plano Presby. It went well & he plans to send me home this morning. 1 tami j reacted to this

kan75251 66 Posted January 2, 2014 My surgery was 12/30 and I felt pretty good that day. Day 2 was really difficult for me. I had an allergic reaction to the contrast the hospital used for the leak test. I was broke out in a horrible rash and vomiting for the next 24 hours. Day 3 was better, I was able to drink some and not throw up. I came home on day 3. Today is day 4 and I feel better. I am really trying to get all my fluids in. I have to take small sips or I have a pretty intense pain in my stomach/chest area. I still have gas pain that I am trying to walk out. I can't believe how tired I am! I hope everyone is healing nicely! Take care of yourself today. 7 AtlantaRed, tami j, gmanbat and 4 others reacted to this

DeezJeanz 1,065 Posted January 2, 2014 Hello my family:). Just wanted to update: I'm still n hospital, I feel rather well but these esophageal spasms are still givin me issues. As I said the second swallow test was.basically inconclusive but the surgeon said it looked good enuff for him, however; until I'm 24 hrs spasm free, he still won't let me eat or drink:( so today is day 4, npo. Then he said, we just have to b patient bc it will improve, so I have to stay here until Monday mornin:( my 9 yr old is alredy upset when she has to lv me nd she doesn't evn know about Monday yet. Catheter n heart monitor removed so that's good. I thank God that I'm not evn hungry or head hungry, I'm just rdy to get up n moving forward in a positive way. amiee0176 2 Posted January 3, 2014 I was sleeved on December 20th. I've been home since the 23rd and am getting my strength back more and more every day. I've lost a total of 30lbs since I started the pre-op liquid diet; 17 lbs since I was sleeved and a total of 67lbs since I began this journey. So excited to finally be on this side of being sleeved and can't wait to see what my future holds in store for me. Question: is anyone else having a hard time getting all their protien and a total of 64 oz Fluid in every day? (I know the shakes count as some of the required fluids but I can't get anywhere near 64 oz of anything in in a day) I was excited today for the sad fact that I was able to drink an entire protien shake (only took 6 hours to drink one 14oz shake, ugh) but after geting that down I don't have room for Water or crystal light. Is this normal this early in my journey? Also, I have a TON of food allergies and have unfortunately figured out that I'm allergic to the powdered protien mixes so I can't mix unflavored protien into my water/crystal light. Any ideas? 1 CindyGirl reacted to this

Any ideas? - I was sleeved on dec12 and still struggling to get in minimum 50g Protein and 48oz water per my NUT On a good day I'm probably getting in around 300 calories -- 30g protein and 32 oz water Incredibly weak these days too; lost about 25lbs in 3 weeks since surgery Didn't think 3 weeks out would look like this but it should get better I had hiatal hernia repair same time so I believe that is my greatest challenge ... I actually broke down and cried while on the phone with my NUT the other day; it hurt so bad to sip anything Im doing a bit better with sipping now due to the carafate solution my surgeon prescribed me but still not easy -- I'm thankful for the tiny progressions Best wishes to you!! 1 chefcoll reacted to this
MASSGUY 51 Posted January 3, 2014 Just saw a commercial for lean cuisines saying they have 13g of Protein. Has anyone tried these? Wondering how high the carb/sugar intake is. I know everyone's one NUT is different, but mine ok's TV dinners. I had the WW meatloaf. It is 19 g of protein. Sugars are low. Yes they have sodium, but sine I am now having little sodium; it is not a concern for me. They do have carbs but again, I am not consuming any other carbs. 1 AtlantaRed reacted to this
