Look at my sad photo - **Warning** MAJOR pity party

Recommended Posts

Eeeeeek! I meant you were sad. I'd be sad, too, if I had to push my date out. Did I say something different in your English? :D

And yes....we have an international market and spotted d**k always gets my husband and teenaged girls snickering madly. Don't know what it is, but it does inspire giggly laughter for at least two aisles.

Don't worry - absolutely no offence taken - I was kidding, I knew what you meant. My American husband thinks Spotted Dstarkstark is pretty funny too - actually it's basically a plain pudding with raisins in (they are the "spotted" part) it is steamed and served with hot custard (a British staple with puddings) super stodgy but a true comfort food in the winter time. This thread has turned very silly indeed and given me huge laughs so thanks everyone, can't wait to see who posts something next !!

pudding with raisins sounds much better than pudding with blood. I'm totally scared of what your pudding is, though. Mine is creamy brown chocolate flavored stuff that you cook on a stove. It's milk with thickening and flavor. No piggies harmed in the making of this food product.

It's just like a steamed sponge - not as light as a sponge cake - heavier - but tastes like a nice heavy sponge type cake thingy (that's the technical name) !!

Oh my gawwwwd. I wash the dishes with a sponge. I put a sponge in the microwave wet so it will steam clean. What kind of sponge are you eating?

I should have skipped surgery and moved across the big Water to the land of blood and sponges.

I can't imagine that tagline ever appearing in a bodyform advert

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
