2ndChanceHeth 15 Posted October 8, 2013 Hi, my husband and i are 8 days post op- we're full liquids with some puree..... Here is my question- how long do liquids stay in your stomach? We had broth and ice tea for "lunch" and i still feel full.... We're out with friends, so i think i overdid it a bit and may have drank too much too quickly.... So did i somehow "hurt" myself or still full? My husband is under the impression that liquids pass through quickly but for years, people have always said drink a glass of Water or have lo cal veg Soup to fill up before you eat. I know that fill up principle no longer applies, just wondering about the affects of liquid? Thanks!!

SerendipityHappens 1,594 Posted October 8, 2013 When you're newly sleeved inflammation can keep liquids in for longer because it takes longer for the liquids to flow through a tight space.. For me at 7 months out, I can drink 16 ounces of Water and be ready to eat in 10 minutes. 1 JessFinch reacted to this

Allison Carter Kenney 5 Posted October 9, 2013 You are full because you still have swelling in your stomach , when you move past this stage you will see that you drink and them 30 min - an hour you are hungry again 1 JessFinch reacted to this
