Packing for the Hospital

Marjon9 & Furellie, how funny.

I don't plan on wearing a bra home. I'm a 42 DD and if someone has a problem with the fact that I am "free balling", I hope to be to hopped up on meds to give a crap.

Well, if I wasn't worried about them reaching down there and hitting the incision areas whilst they free ball.....lol!

Being the obsessive person that I am I brought a ton of stuff, however, one thing I think everyone should bring with them are Bullion Cubes so you have nourishment for your journey home! It took me over 12 hours to get home and they came in handy. Good luck!

That was me, alright.:)

Ixnay on the coughdrops--you could swallow them and get stuck--especially easy when you are reclining. Better to get some of those thin strips or spray for sore throat.:)

just bring slippers and loose fitting clothes to go home in. The hospital has everything else and you won't be there long. They will likely put a binder on you before you leave so make sure what you bring is large enough for that to fit comfortably under your clothes.

If you see a short fat chick walking around TJ next week looking like she bought her clothes in the men's department of Walmart, that'll be me wink.gif
:)

How about a pie? I wonder if they'll let me bring a pie......

OMG ... FurEllie, you are TOO FUNNY!!!!

A pie with a little ice cream sounds great. Do you think they will let you put the ice cream in the Nurses Station Freezer? LOL

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
