I had my six week post op appointment today. She was pleased that I'm feeling tons better now that I'm fully hydrated. She said I've lost 10lbs in the past 4 weeks. Which she said is good but if had been able to eat more then I would have been able to loose more. So, she told me since I'm unable to take more than a few bites before I'm done. I need to eat several meals a day to get in all my calories.

So now I have to figure out how to eat several "meals" of Protein a day. Any suggestions? I'm getting really tired of chicken and I have yet to find a Protein shake I like post op.

If you are not allergic to seafood and enjoy eating it, try adding some. I eat grilled salmon and shrimp cocktail (with or without the cocktail sauce) a few times a week. I think it helps to vary the Protein source. chicken gets boring day after day. I also eat beef; steak, ground beef patties, roasts, etc. I do find beef is the Protein source I eat the smallest amount of, but I do eat it when the mood strike me.

Edamame is also a great high protein snack, as are pumpkin seeds. You can eats small amounts of these and keep your palate engaged. :)

Hmmm I never considered edamame or pumpkin seeds. I will have to give them a try. I loved both pre-op so hopefully I still do. I have had small amounts of beef and pork both sat like lead weights in my stomach. I've been avoiding them some. I had some shrimp once and it was hard but it was still kind of early when I had it. Can give it a try again. Fish and I were never friends before but I'm willing to try now with my changing taste buds.

Thank you for the suggestions I will see what I can make out of them

I'll tell you though I would absolutely love to eat a salad. Man do I miss vegis and fruit.< /p>

For Snacks, I eat some cottage cheese, baby bel cheeses, deli meat slices, roasted edamame. Those things go down easiest and can be eaten on the fly without much prep. Good way for me to augment my real meals. Also if the meat is moist I can eat it easier. Ground beef goes down almost too easy for me! I can easily eat 3-4 oz of that whereas 2 oz of chicken, crab, or fish or shrimp goes thunk immediately.
