pquinn181 21 Posted October 8, 2013 Hi this is the first time I've posted anything. My question is has anyone successfully got Medicare to pay for the sleeve surgery? My doctors office said Medicare said they would pay for the sleeve surgery however its been 6 months and I haven't paid a dime.
Bea Jaye 0 Posted October 8, 2013 hi, of the $5300 for my surgery which is the surgeons fees and his assistants fees, my combined Medicare/Private Health Insurance rebate is only $1000.
JOANNE M HOLL 388 Posted December 14, 2013 Yes, I was over 65 years & spoke to them on the phone. They told me the hospitals I could get coverage in our state. Must be one that has a large bariatric section. Only 3 in Minnesota! This was in 2006 and I do have supplemental insurance so I did not have any expense. They covered all the pre-op tests & etc. Which was a good procedure as several things got updated and gave me a current healthy baseline! They have given me coverage on cancerous breast removal, broken wrist and surgery on a hammer toe since then. Plus several band fills with the dye scope of the upper GI. The band check-up is once a year now. . . . My lap-band has ingenuously saved my life. 1 fatlady reacted to this
