You are going to live hun..The stent is to heal the sleeve around it...Sometimes they leave them in and other times they take them out after the incision heals..Most likely you will wait 6 weeks before they even think about removing it...The pain is bad I know I had 2 of them..One for 6 weeks and then they decided to add another one on top of the first......

Make sure they give you nausea meds and pain killers...You will feel like you are full all the time...Some people have it worse then others.....Stay calm...There are a lot of things they can do for you.....I have had it all done to me......I am 11 months out, and almost 6 months out of the hospital.......Stop crying hun.....You will be okay..

If you want me to talk to you..message me and I will be there for you during this time.....

I am so sorry you are going through this right now but listen to RJ'S/Beginning she has been through a lot and can help you. Be a strong advocate for yourself and keep that doctor on his toes. He needs to hear your concern and respond appropriately to it. If he doesn't then let him know he is letting you down. Hang in there and please keep us posted with your progress! I hope you heal quickly and again please talk with us to help you get through it.

I am so sorry. I have not had a leak but have seen others here who have. It seems to be a really miserable experience but one they have come through. Sending prayers.

high fever is the real sign of being septic.....high dozes of antibiotics will clear that up in no time.....I remember the lack of energy well...I kept passing out the last 2 days I was home before my grand daughter pushes on my abdomen and liquid started to come out of the staples.....they have you in the best place right now....you are better off then I was....you can handle this hun.......I promise!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
