Okay....UPDATE ALERT!!!

YES ALERT!

Don't do it! I tried a few spoonfuls of just the broth ...yuck! Too peppery.

"Maybe " a Tbsp of my husbands mashed potatoes.

The Verdict?

HEART BURN!!

Now home doing a Creamy Peanut Butter shake.

I went out to dinner my second day home with my family. I just ordered chicken broth. The waitress offered to bring me broth and vegetables. I said no thank you just the broth. Then she offered to bring me broth and chicken. Again, I said no thank you. The third time she got it. I paid $3 for a bowl of broth that I couldn't finish but it was a good feeling to be out.

Sunflower ... Where did you go? Was the broth something that was on the menu or did you ask if they could prepare it specifically for you??

It is nice getting out and being able to see how "our world" will be.

We have a Mexican restaurant near our house. They had chicken Soup on the menu. The waitress said it was chicken, vegetables and a side of rice. That's when I asked for just the broth. They also had a beef soup so I guess I could of had chicken or beef broth.

I am 4 days post vsg and homemade meals so far. I cooked fresh chicken broth stock for 3 days. Chicken was used for my brothers. I included potatoes and carrots to have flavor. Also I added 1 TBS of chicken stock powder for flavor. A aqueeze of lemon and black pepper. I do no suggest to leave home till completing the liquid phase

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
