Surby 1 Posted March 2, 2007 I've been noticing a rather strange phenomenon during the past two weeks. I have only lost around 40 pounds, and I still have around 70 to go, so I'm still very much overweight. However, I cannot believe how people's reactions to me have changed........ people are friendlier, guys are flirtier (I'm very married), service people pay more attention to me.... I wonder if maybe it's because I'm just feeling more confident?? It's not that I'm this attractive bombshell, either!! Has anyone else noticed a huge, sudden difference in people's interactions with you???
ReneBean 3 Posted March 2, 2007 Oh yeah. WAY. I think it's a combination of being smaller and being more confident. You may have just crossed into a place where people find you to be within their "acceptable range" of human body sizes... so they are treating you like they treat everybody else. Enjoy it. :]
edieparks 2 Posted March 2, 2007 Yes, the world treats normal size people better. They (in general) think fat people are lazy and don't deserve good service or being freindly too. I noticed on my weigh (lol) up . I was skipped over when I was waiting patiently. I would say excuse me, I was next. I would make small talk with someone and I would be ignored. It hurt. Sad . edie
lisah25 3 Posted March 2, 2007 Oh yeah. And I still have almost 100 lbs to go. I think a big part of it is body language on our part. I'm not longer trying to just get through the day not being noticed. I'm looking people in the eye more, smiling more, and then of course I get feedback for it, and want to do more. I think it's not only that I'm looking better, but that I no longer feel ashamed. I am doing something about my body and health.
