ktgrace 6 Posted October 7, 2013 Am 3 days post op and woke up sweaty and shaky and weak. What can I do to feel better? Please help!
Vickybli 64 Posted October 7, 2013 That sounds like hypogycemia - low blood sugar- from not eating enough. Try some fruit juice or some yogurt and call your NUT to tell you what you should be eating.
Fixerupper 335 Posted October 7, 2013 I felt that way in the early days when I was dehydrated or hadn't had enough to eat. can you get something in your system fast?

Teachamy 1,042 Posted October 7, 2013 I have yet to have surgery, but I would definitely talk to your doctor. As a type I diabetic, what you are describing sounds a lot like low blood sugar to me. If you're not diabetic, it won't go low enough to be dangerous, but hypoglycemia can feel miserable and won't get better until you get some carbs into your body. If you can tolerate sipping juice, I would recommend it. And definitely call your doctor.
Madam Reverie 2,958 Posted October 7, 2013 As Vicky said.. Get some orange juice in you and quick. Give it 15 minutes and if you still feel horrid, get on the phone to someone. x 1 Arts137 reacted to this

Fixerupper 335 Posted October 7, 2013 The Powerade might help but something with some Protein (like yogurt) might be even better.

Kathie5353 53 Posted October 7, 2013 Isopure is a clear Liquid Protein drink. I do not like any of the flavors, but many people on this site do. Maybe try that?
