May slow losers - vent here!

Recommended Posts

I'm so glad everyone has started using the thread. I consider that I am a slow loser in comparison to the rest of the may sleevers who have lost 60+ pounds. I am floating around 204-200lbs and have lost 41lbs. I was sleeved may 7th and seriously feel like I'm lagging behind everyone else especially now that I'm coming out of a 6 week stall. I get annoyed' date=' frustrated and upset all the time. Everyone speaks about how good things are and I am seriously fighting to loose a pound.[/quote']

Did you have as much to lose in the beginning? My BS said that because I didn't have as much to lose that I may lose it slower than say someone who has 150-200lbs to lose. He said if I was eating right and exercising he couldn't ask for a better patient. It made me feel a little better, until I've been stuck between 200-202 for 3-4 weeks. Have faith, we will get there, and maybe our skin won't sag.

Hello May Sleevers

I was sleeved on May 31 and down 60 pounds. I understand that to you it isn't a "slow looser" but to me it is. I read people who have lost so much more with out exercise and don't track calories. I work my chubby as off at the gym and stay under 800 calories. If it wasn't for the gym 5 times a week I don't think I would be at 60 lost. Maybe I will start a medium loss thread lol.

I am here to offer my support and motivation. If you need a gym buddy let me know I am from Las Vegas I go to LVAC or we can even Skype and have a work out session.

Can't wait to hear all of your success stories.

I also have jeans up for grabs size 18 20 and 22 if anyone is interested please inbox me and I will gladly ship them to you.

Wishing you all success. .

Oh I hear your pain. I remember after my op I didn't loose anything for like 4 weeks! So I understand. Hang in there!

Maybe you aren't eating enough? I'm a July sleever and was keeping my calories around 750-800 and lost maybe a pound a week. 3 weeks ago I upped my calories to 900-950 and I've been losing 3-4lbs per week!

Just ignore my horrible diary today lol. I did pretty well, but I'm still trying to get a handle on my emotional eating. I was upset/stressed earlier and took a spoon of sugar free frosting! Lol. Not my finest moment, but at least I logged it right?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
