I have to self pay for my gastric surgery and I have been researching alternative doctors and would like to know if anyone will recommend any doctors in Mexico. I am tired of this life and want my life back.

I am going to dr Elias Ortiz from alighterme.com on November 7th. My good friend used him and had a great experience. So far it's been an easy process!

How long did it take you toget a surgety date? What preop is required?

I reallly recommend Dr. Aceves. He is more expensive but I felt safer staying 3 days in a hosptial and having 3 leak tests.

I made my decision, contacted them, we faxed paperwork back and forth for 1-2 business days, then I told them the date I wanted to have surgery. I made my deposit, the date I wanted was confirmed, I booked my flight and it was a final deal! It took less than 5 days total to arrange EVERYTHING.

I has sleeve done Sept 13 with Dr Quinones! I absolutely would recommend him to anyone. I paid 4,500 and it basically included everything besides Meds $80 and my airfare. I was treated like a queen.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
