AnnaLV 32 Posted October 7, 2013 I've been looking into the uses of coconut oil and man are they lengthy. This stuff is a gold mine! Some that may interest y'all... Helps to tighten and regenerate skin cells, reduces wrinkles, curbs nausea, and when rubbed into the scalp daily it helps to regenerate hair cells for hair regrowth. Google it, I'm sold :-) 2 GreenEyedFireCracker and Kiki75 reacted to this

donewithdieting 44 Posted October 7, 2013 Get the good stuff. I buy it by the gallon direct from the company. Nutiva- organic extra virgin coconut oil. I signed up for their Tuesday special to be emailed, and last week was a gallon for $50.00 and free shipping. Saved over 17.00. We use a lot of oil.
DeniseM 238 Posted October 7, 2013 I cook with it, but can't imagine rubbing it on my skin... is there a skin care version???
AnnaLV 32 Posted October 7, 2013 I cook with it' date=' but can't imagine rubbing it on my skin... is there a skin care version???[/quote'] Nope, you want the food quality. It's the good stuff. It's the same as using olive oil on your skin :-)
AutumnPunkin 313 Posted October 7, 2013 I use mine mixed with sugar and a bit if salt to make a scrub. Love it. But I only use it for beauty as it is so high in saturated fats! Yikes!

Globetrotter 1,340 Posted October 7, 2013 Yeah, I'm excited about it too, but I also have read that it is high in saturated fats. How does one use it for scars and Hair loss? Is it good for digestion? How?
MsK1972 112 Posted October 7, 2013 I am a professional hair stylist if more than 20 years and yes it's awesome for hair growth..apply it to the scalp but don't use too much as to clog your pours. If you are Caucasian I would use it as a treatment prior to shampooing and go under a warm dryer for about 20 minutes. Or else you are going to have the greasies...Lol! Good Luck!!! AnnaLV 32 Posted October 7, 2013 Yep that's exactly what I read too! Thank you! And for scars, the scrub that was mentioned earlier. You can mix it with sea salt and/or sugar for a daily exfoliating scrub on scars and stretch marks. For wrinkles and skin tightening just rub it in like lotion :-) 1 MsK1972 reacted to this

How?[/quote'] It is supposed to be good for digestion issues, but you do have to eat it for that benefit and it is really high in saturated fats, so I'm not sure I will use it for that purpose. donewithdieting 44 Posted October 7, 2013 I put a tsp or so in my coffee every morning, I put a dab in my palms and use as face cream before bed, I make popcorn with it, I use it for hair conditioner, I've made homemade deodorant, I bake with it, I make candy with it, we use as a personal lubricant, good for diaper rash, can use with cloth diapers, Just Bing it. There are websites that tout the goodness. It is good for you. It is a MCO (Medium chain oil)and is good for the body. I swear it helps reduce the hot flashes.
