Completely normal! I had the same thing and it stopped after a day or 2.

Use a heating pad, walk frequently and just remember this is all temporary. You'll progressively start feeling better.

I'm a little growly, too -- just had some nice salty broth and my stomach is trying to thank me out loud. The walking has been so great for me and also arms way up in the air, some windmills while walking to get any trapped gas moving out.

Don't forget the pain meds - they saved me, it was a tough experience and honestly - it's exactly two weeks today and I had a pretty good day. The weight isn't dropping off me, I think my body believes I'm going to feed it bread, sugar, Cookies and ice cream... but i'm NOT, so it can hold on to this weight but I know it's going to cave sooner or later - just keep the course.

Some have said that the pain meds didn't help their gas pains, it helped my pains, so not sure if it was gas or nerve, doc said it was more nerve then gas b/c of the HH repair.

Regardless - take it easy and be well!

Thanks so much for letting me know!!!!!! What kind of chewable Vitamins has everybody got for this. I have the Multi Vitamins from the doctor but they said I needed chewable but my mom got citracal gummies they seemed to cramp me alittle.

I'm still pre op until tomorrow! But anyways I was told that the gummy vitamins could get stuck so I had to run out and grab different chewable vitamins! I guess my kids will have to take te Gummy ones I bought!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
