If you cannot keep solid foods down you are probably too tight

Reflux is another indication you're too tight.

Right after fill adjustments these are the things to look for:

1. Dry consistent cough not associated with a cold.

2. Refux spitting up in your sleep

3. Obviously not able to get any solids down without throwing up.

4. Throat irritation

5. Constant burping up dry air

NaNa is right when my band is too tight I can't get food or liquids down and I cough or vomit during the night feels like I'm choking on water.. An unfil will have instant relief so call your surgeon and give them your symptoms!

This kinda answers my thoughts. I've been banded for 3 years lost 50 lbs In the first year and then maintained that for about a year then 2 family members were diagnosed with cancer and that led me to emotional eating . To make a long story short I hadn't had a fill in a year. I got with a new surgeon had a barium swallow. He told me that my band was in great shape I had no problem with the liquid going through but he could see I didn't have good restriction.

He took me from almost 6cc to 7 this past Tuesday I was told to have 2 days of liquids and 2 days of puréed. Thankfully I did that well because I was not hungry. I'm not doing all of that bad stuff like coughing up & burping but I still can't eat much at all. I made some split pea Soup which is as good as purée I had about 3 tbsp tonight and I was feeling stuck. So I will be eating some broth , Greek yogurt & trying to have a Protein shake tomorrow . I kinda feel like at last maybe I'm hitting my sweet spot but is it like this . I've lost 5lbs since Tuesday . Which is good.

Should I be concerned? Does it sound like I'm too tight? I don't mind not being

Hungry but eventually I will have to eat a little more. Maybe it's just prolonged swelling of my pouch , stoma whatever. Sorry I had to break into this thread but I can't start threads yet.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
