Losing my hair!!!

Recommended Posts

Today in the shower, I ran my fingers through it and an enormous clump of hair came out in my hands plus more every time I wrung out my hair! I'm a little nervous. I hear this happens sometimes when you lose a lot of weight quickly. But I've only lost 40 pounds in 4 months. What does everyone suggest will help me with the hair lose?

Protein and Vitamins is what I'm being told. 80-100 gms of protein a day. 80 being the minimum

Many people take Biotin and I think there is a special Shampoo out there. A dermatologist may have recommendations. Good luck -- it will come back! And congrats on the 40......

I lost a ton of hair in the shower in week 2 and 3 but I started 5000mg of Biotin daily. Some people swear it doesn't work... But I've noticed a difference so I'm gonna keep up with it!

I'm almost 17 mos post op and 73 lbs down and I started losing hair immediately. I try to get my Protein in but don't get nearly enough as stated above obviously. I do take Biotin and some ppl on here have suggested to me Nioxin system but its expensive but neither promote new growth just healthy hair as told by my stylist and helps your current hair grow. I've just learned to live with mine as is and keep taking my biotin. The Vitamins make me sick so I don't take them. Good luck.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
