Does your doctor's scale weigh you heavier than at home???

Recommended Posts

Hi,

My doctor's scale weighs me 10-13 pounds heavier than my scale at home!!! That's alot! A friend of mine's scale weighs me about six pounds heavier than at home (she says her doctor's scale weighs her 4 pounds heavier than her scale at home). Other scales have weighed me lighter than my scale at home.

Do you have the same experience and how will I ever know how much I really weigh??? Are doctor's scales really so accurate? How depressing that would be...

My doc's scale is about 12 lbs heavier than my home scale. It's so confusing! I have a nice scale at home and I weigh first thing before eating or drinking so I regard my home scale as correct. The problem is that the better number isn't seen by anyone but me. sheesh

Yep,

Not by much but usually 4 pounds or so. I bought the weight watchers scales online, they were about 69.00 dollars and they are the most accurate I've ever weighed on. I really recommend them.

YES! Then again, I don't strip down at the Dr's office - I don't even remove my shoes at this point. But it's still about 5 pounds more than my home scale and I know my shoes don't weigh 5 pounds.........

My doc's scale is consistently 4 lbs over what mine says. That's why you really should always weigh on the same scale... and why my "official" weight is always posted.

I only call it "official" if I go to my surgeon's office, or the fill center. (those scales seem to match)

I don't really care what the number is. I just want to be able to see the trend.

:]

Fortunately for me, the digital scale I have at home, and the digital scale at the doctor/surgeon weighs me EXACTLY the same!!!! However, when I weight naked at home, and clothed at the doctors - there is obviously a discrepancy.

Oh those dreaded scales!!!!!

My docs scales weigh more also. But I tend to have my appt after 4 in the afternoon. So between clothes and fluids/meals his weigh more.

I consider mine at home to be my official weight and that is what I watch.

I usually weigh a couple pounds more at the Dr's office, but then again I'm usually there in the afternoon. I like to weigh first thing when I get to work (state certified scale). So I think it's very close.

My doctors scale weighs me 3-4 pounds less than my home scale. On the day of the surgery I was weighed twice. First on the hospital scale, and then on the surgeon's official scale. The hospital scale was 2 pounds over the "official" scale.

I adjusted my home scale to match the one at my surgeon's office, 4 lb difference.

Like others here, I too weigh less at home (first thing in the morning in a nightgown) than at the doctor's (end of day, fully clothed but barefoot).

I am fighting for every pound it seems and I visit the clinic about every few weeks to have my blood checked ( I am on blood thinners and EVERYTHING affects the levels and I can't seem to hold steady.) I try not to get depressed but that scale is always 4 lbs heavier then mine and at the surgeons it is 4-5 lbs heavier but that is also at end of day and with winter weight clothes. I find myself looking for the lightest weight clothes I can find on the days I go to the dr- stupid I know.

Plan A: Take your scale to the doctor's office and adjust accordingly.

Plan B: Add the extra pounds to your starting weight, and just go on from there. You've still lost the same amount of weight, only the starting number is different. I've had to do that and it's a bitter pill to swallow, but the bottom line is the same :)

well...I weigh nekkid, first thing in the morning, before I eat or drink anything. So, the doc's scale is always 3.5 higher than mine (4 if I have an appt. later in the day).

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
