You're right!! It's not unrealistic at all.I feel it's all in the determination and desire to get to where you want.I was so tired of being morbidly obese.I was determined to make this band work for me.I lost 115 in 7 months. After my lower body lift I've lost 20 more lbs.A friend of mine lost 130 lbs in 6 months. It's all about changing your habits 200%.Majorly changing your diet, even though it's physically still possible to eat alot of things,we shouldn't ,IF WE WANT TO SUCCEED and we need to exercise daily no matter what.I walked 2 miles every evening, while my family ate dinner.< /span>

I don't think 72 lbs is unrealistic either. I am 8.5 months post op and I have lost almost 92 lbs.

Hey, Julie,

How have you been doing? Are you back at work yet? I think we're all anxious to see more photos now that you are further along in the healing process. You just look so great!

Are you happy with how the scars are healing? That's probably my biggest fear with plastic surgery. The scar from my lap-band is still red and slightly raised and I hate looking at it every day. Of course, it's better than looking at all the fat that I used to have. I guess every thing is a trade-off.

Give us an update when you can. Thanks.

I had a date Sunday night and got reasonably dressed for it, so I'll post a pic of that outfit when I get home (I'd taken it so a girlfriend could help me decide what to wear!).

The scars on my breasts are darn-near invisible at this point (and I'm a poor scarer). The TT scars are very red and raised -- to be expected. Dad said we won't really assess them until the 3 month mark. He thinks my scars will be bad and, if so, may do some salicilic (sp?) acid treatments on them during the healing process. We'll see. I'd like them to be nice, but honestly, it's not that big of a deal to me.

What IS a big deal is how much I want my thighs and arms done now that I see how big of a change PS really makes! If I can lose 30 more lbs, I can have the thighs done over Christmas. The arms only require a week off work, so I'm less concerned with when I'll get them in.

OK, I was happier than I looked in these pics -- I was just snapping quick shots on the cellphone to send to a friend to help decide what to wear! I went with the pink.

PS: The date didn't go so well -- you'd think new boobs would at least get me from the peck on the cheek to a peck on the lips! Wink.

This is a guy I've known for 6 years. It's probably all too new for him, I guess. Anyway, I'm trying to get out more....

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
