Kidney stones/Gallbladder stones

Recommended Posts

In the last 2 months, I have either had kidney stones or gallbladder stones 3 times. I'm guessing more kidneys because of my symptoms. The pain starts on the right side of my back and then pushes my port out, causing pain. My port area swells about the size of a grapefruit; to the point I can grab the whole area in my hand. At times, the port pain is more uncomfortable than the kidney stones.

Has this ever happened to anyone?

I'm making an appt with my surgeon today, but wanted to ask before the office opens.

I think that you have already followed the above advice because you said you have an appt,so I will wish you luck. It does sound like kidneys, not gall bladder!

Yes, my question is more if anyone has had kidney stones and had your port swell the size of a grapefruit?

It feels like something is pushing up against my port.

Kidney stones or gall stones would not make your port swell to the size of a grape fruit. Your port is not close to either area. Its in the front sewn to muscle. I would say you have a port issue along with something else.

So the pain has gone away, and the swelling has gone down. Its so weird!

I have an appt to see my surgeon.

Isn't that always the way...you go see the doctor and things get better and go away and they look at you like you like you like Scooby Doo trying to solve a mystery!

Please let us know what your doctor says, and I hope it's not Zoinks!

What do you mean "guessing"? You have not yet visited your primary or a urologist?? Kidney stone pain is the worse kind of pain there is.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
