Body by vi?

Recommended Posts

Has anybody tried Body by vi shakes? If so, what was your experience with them? Are they worth the money? And do they help with the liquid phase? I'm thinking about ordering them but I don't want to be scammed. I am stuck at 182 pounds and I'm afraid I'm going to gain since it's getting colder outside. Thanks!!

I tried them but wasn't too impressed with it. Everyone is different though. It didn't really curb my appetite or anything. I still have a big bag of it sitting in my kitchen because it just didn't do anything for me.

Like I said everyone is different but I honestly was not impressed with it.

I ordered the Body by Vi shakes before I did my pre-op liquid diet, and I wasn't impressed. I invested a bunch of money in an assortment of all the flavor packets and add-ins, and although they did taste pretty good, I couldn't tell that much of a difference, and didn't have as much Protein as the protein powders you can buy anywhere. I can send you the rest of one of my bags if you want to try it first. Not sure I'd bother getting enrolled in it though. I still haven't called and cancelled my subscription (which is another pain in the butt). You can't cancel your subscription online, you have to actually call. :(

They only have 12g of Protein per 2 scoop serving. That isn't nearly enough. Especially during the post op diet phase you should be getting at least 20g of Protein per serving for your shakes.

Just my opinion, but I wouldn't waste my money on them. I'd stick with a good (cheaper) Protein shake.

I still have a bag in my cabinet....I didn't like it. They say it taste like cake mix but I would rather have the GNC lean shakes before body by vi or even Atkins they are good too.

I like the taste but they are not as good as a lot of other shakes on the market as far as protein/cals/carbs.

I'm doing zeal shakes and the Vitamin supp... I do this cuz the shakes taste good and it's 14g of Protein in one scoop. The vitamin I do to keep my health up make sure I get all my nutrient in.... If u try the shake get the bag then by as hacker cuz the pre measured ones has 21g but it can be gritty and not mix up well ...it's all about taste for me!

Be careful with a lot of those weight loss Protein Shakes. They tend to have a lot of added sugars to make them taste better and you don't want that. Zeal has 20 plus grams of sugar!!! Atkins is better. I think it has 5 or less. Just do your research.

My dietician said no to Kellogg's and Slimfast Protein Shakes too. Too much sugar!! Not enough protein!!

I actually found a slim fast Protein Shake that has 20g Protein and 2 g sugar and they are really good! Comes 4 to a pack. I have only found them in chocolate and they are hard to come by.

I tried Body by Vi too and was not impressed at all. Just threw four bags and about 30 flavor packets in the compost:(. Also tried the GNC 'Lean' shakes and they were worse.

I have tried the Vi shakes, but I put a tablespoon of reduced fat Peanut Butter, 2 teasp. sugar free butterscotch pudding mix, and sugar free choc Syrup about a tablespoon and mix it with the shakes. It tastes like a butterfinger!! I don't like the $$ of them, but it does help the Protein requirement.

Right now, I am at 8cc fill for a 10cc band...so I lost 8# last month, so I guess I am almost at my "sweet spot", but I am having difficulty finding what I can and cannot eat...its like starting from day one all over again. I'm getting sick of Soup...but as a nurse I know I need to keep my nutrients up...but also keep the sodium content low.. Any suggestions??

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
