LuvStarfish 1 Posted October 30, 2013 I am 11 weeks post op on Friday Nov1st. My Seroma has finally went away. I went in today for my 4 th fill. I still get hungry and have only lost 7lbs. A month ago I was down 12lbs but gained five back in two weeks because apparently all swelling was down and I wasn't filling full at all. It still seems like I can eat anything with very little restriction. I'm so discouraged especially that I paid cash for my procedure. Every time I exercise the next day I am very sore at the port site which then makes me not want to exercise. I haven't seem the Dr since surgery and here where I live there is only RN's that care for you at the appointments. Dont feel like this is helping :-(
lisacaron 5,075 Posted October 30, 2013 Luv...give yourself some!! You just had major surgery!! Your body is healing and it will take some time to get to our optimum fill point. Getting the band was the best thing I have ever done for myself. Please don't be discouraged. Give your self some TLC, let your body heal take it slow and you will see everything will start coming together for you. 2 jennybean and dylanmiles23 reacted to this
2muchfun 8,927 Posted October 30, 2013 I lost 12 lbs the first 2 weeks and then nothing till my 3rd fill 4 months after surgery. It happens and you just have to keep going in for fills till you start to feel some satiety? For me, I started getting stuck on some foods(around the 4th fill) and of course that was the signal that I needed to take smaller bites and chew much more. But, from that point on, I felt less hunger and lost weight consistently. 1 jennybean reacted to this

I'm always feeling like i'm a failure that i'm doing something wrong.. then i come here and it helps.. just keep posting and reading what others are doing. you'll find you are not alone. how much are they putting in your band if you have already had 4 fill since surgery 11wks ago.. i have had one and am now at 6cc with a 14cc band 1 2muchfun reacted to this
dawalsh 919 Posted October 30, 2013 It has taken me 10 months post op to finally start feeling restriction. I've had 8 fills and I'm just now not feeling hungry. It takes time.this is not a miracle cure. It's hard work. There is no easy way out. It will happen. You're doing well. blondegal_ 1,028 Posted November 2, 2013 You can take some Tylenol and put ice on your port. And exercise doesn't have to hurt to be worth doing. Just walking is exercise. This will be a long process. I've given myself two years to get to goal. That may seem like a long time but I needed to lose ~150 lbs and that amount just wasn't going to go away overnight. So please think about your situation and set realistic goals. This is a life style change. It's about being healthy. Not the number on the scale. Best if luck! 1 intelirish reacted to this
