DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted October 26, 2013 It sucks but it's really important you cough. Otherwise, you run a risk of post operative pneumonia. Keep a firm pillow (or even stuffed animal) nearby and when you cough, hug it tight against your tummy so it won't hurt so much.
