My husband had a non-WLS related sleep study because I suspected he had sleep apnea and he said the same thing! It's definately a bit awkward, but try your best to relax and sleep even if it's only for a little awhile. He said he felt like he barely got any sleep, but he went into dreamland long enough for them to identify his breathing issues. At one point he said they woke him up and put him on the C-Pap machine and he felt a lot better.

I hope you're able to get some rest tonight :)

Lol you looked like a robot didn't you? When I use to score sleep studies we always let the person go without a CPAP to see how they did the whole night and then they came back for a CPAP study so we could titrate the pressures to get them right. You probably slept more than you thought and they can tell by your brain activity which is really interesting. Your eye movements have lots to do with it too and they can also tell you if you grind your teeth and if you have restless legs. I'm not sure why they measured your neck though.

I went to a sleep study about 5 years ago...... I. Didn't. Sleep. Not. One. Second. It was so frustrating!! First, I had to "go to sleep" at 10pm.... Like WHO DOES THAT?!! THIS IS NYC!! Then, with all that crap they put on you.... Yeah, right! I barely sleep with panties on! (That was another thing, I was in PAJAMAS!! Uuuggggggg!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
